This is the piece de resistance I have been working on for a couple of months now and I thought it was time to share it. I have found every shell and piece of seaglass right here in Rockport, Texas and St. Joe’s Island in Port Aransas, Texas, and a few on Sanibel Island, Florida. I am almost finished but not quite.
As I was shelling this mirror, I couldn’t help but ooh, and ahh, when I pulled a shell out of a bag, they seem like old friends to me. Yep, I no doubt have become a SHELLUNATIC!
I just started this blog yesterday and threw some pictures of my shell art up without telling y’all anything about myself. First off I live in Rockport, Texas, moved here from Austin two years ago. I live in a small community on the bay with my husband, Drew, and our little yorkie babies Tinky, and Winnie. I love to hunt for seashells, and sea glass, eeerrrk, complete stop, backup! I AM COMPLETELY ADDICTED TO HUNTING FOR SEASHELLS AND SEA GLASS!! I had no idea when I moved to this picturesque coastal bend town that I would find my true passion in life, and frankly, I didn’t think I had a true driving passion burning within me, but I did. I have so many shells I finally decided to tap into my artistic side. I have started to shell antique bottles and a huge mirror, we shall see how it goes.
Okay, I’m off to St. Joe’s Island to hunt for more ocean treasures. I’ll let you know what I find…
